Indonesian Athletes Ready to Win More Gold Medals in 2024 Paris Olympics

Jakarta, IO – Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo confirmed the names of the Indonesian athletes who will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics during a statement to the press at the Ministry’s building, Jakarta, Wednesday (10/7).

Dito formally and ceremoniously handed over the red-and-white national flag to the Indonesian contingent’s Chef de Mission (CdM) for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Anindya Novyan Bakrie. The athletes then took turns solemnly kissing the flag.

A total of 29 athletes will strive to uphold Indonesia’s reputation in 12 sports branches in the upcoming prestigious sporting event. They have vowed to win more gold medals for the nation. Dito said there are three sporting events where Indonesian athletes are expected to excel, namely badminton, weightlifting, and speed climbing.

In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Indonesian team successfully brought home one gold, one silver, and three bronzes. The 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, August 11. The Indonesian contingent plans to depart for Paris on Saturday, July 13.
