Jakarta, IO – Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry special staff Agus Tjahajana Wirakusumah invites South Korean businessmen to invest in the downstream sector to capitalize on its huge potential.

“Indonesia has great mineral resources potential, which is crucial for economic growth. We invite Korean entrepreneurs to participate in efforts to increase added value for future development, such as batteries and storage,” he said during the Indonesia-Korea Future Industry Business Plaza 2022 in Jakarta, reported Antara on Wednesday (28/9).

Agus said Indonesia and South Korea have established cooperation in the energy and mineral sector since 2002. Both countries have various potentials for cooperation in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, and minerals. One of the collaborations that have been agreed is a pilot project for charging systems to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. Indonesia has also collaborated on the development of critical minerals, in particular exchanging information on the management of critical mineral resources.
