Jakarta, IO – The tourism ministries of Indonesia and Palestine signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno considered Palestine as one of the countries with the main religious tourism destinations for Indonesian Muslim travelers.
Measures to ease and facilitate tourists from both countries were also discussed at this event.
“We signed the MoU as a follow-up to the cooperation between Indonesia and Palestine toward mutual cooperation in the field of tourism,” said Sandiaga, as per Detikcom, Thu (5/9).
In addition, Sandiaga said that both parties will conduct exchange of information, ranging from technology, tourism student exchanges, to religious tourism.

“Not only Islam, there are also other religious tourism sites. This is also part of our cooperation,” he said.
Indonesia will also provide Rp1.1 billion worth of fund to support the Palestinian struggle. (un)
