Indonesia is experiencing constitutional and leadership crisis

IO, Jakarta – The problematic issues that are now happening in Indonesia is that 2019 elections has ‘indirectly’ causing a constitutional and leadership crisis.

This was stated by Dr. Sri Edi Swasono, Economics Professor at the University of Indonesia (UI). in a discussion titled ‘The Collapse of the Reformation of Constitutional Piracy and Abuse’ at the Gren Alia Cikini Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (5/19).

“The constitutional and leadership crisis, if there is no leader then there is no unity. Unity is what makes a leader,” he said.

Edi also equates to one of the western dictums, where an army of sheep led by a lion can easily defeat an army of lions led by sheep.

“An army of sheep led by a lion easily defeats an army of lions led by sheep. This crisis of leadership is very serious,” he said.

“He did not know how to defend the sovereignty of the country, how to glorify the people and so on. This also exists in the Constitution, establishing a state government that protects the entire Indonesian nation and all of Indonesia’s bloodshed,” he explained.

Edi emphasized that If we look at the current conditions, the Indonesian people do not have protection from their own country. This can be proven with the mysterious death cases that afflicts hundreds of Voting Organizing Groups (KPPS) officers.

“The government ignored 600 KPPS officers who died mysteriously. This is a small example of many problems that exist. The people of this nation have not been protected, and now as if our nation and homeland is sold and allowed to be used for contention by foreigners. Our nature wealth is controlled by foreigners rather than by its own people and nation, “he said. (dsy)
