Second, Indonesia also wants OIC to play a bigger role in addressing the situation in Afghanistan, especially in terms of access to education for women.
The third message is to support the struggle for Palestinian independence. Indonesia stresses the importance of OIC taking concrete measures to support the country, including in seeking an advice from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to push the peace process.
Fourth, improvement of people’s wellbeing. Indonesia proposes several areas of cooperation including vaccine development, disaster preparedness and development of halal industry.
Established in 1967, OIC aims to increase Islamic solidarity and cooperation in various fields — politics, economics, social, culture and science. The organization is composed of 57 Islamic countries and countries with Muslim majority populations in Asia and Africa. (un)
