Jakarta, IO – Indonesia encourages the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to strengthen solidarity and collaboration in facing global challenges at the 49th OIC Ministerial Conference in Nouakchott, Mauritania, March 16-17.
According to Kemlu.go.id, Monday (20/3), Director for Multilateral Cooperation Ambassador Tri Tharyat, who attends in foreign minister’s stead conveys Indonesia’s four key messages at the meeting.
First, fulfillment of women’s rights. Indonesia is pushing this issue to become one of OIC’s main agendas because women have real in the development of Islamic world but their rights have yet been fully respected.
“OIC must be at the forefront in pushing for the advancement of women’s rights in Islam,” said Tri Tharyat.
