Jakarta, IO – Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi held a meeting with Cambodian police chief Neth Sovouen at the Cambodian Police headquarters in Phnom Penh, Tuesday (2/8).
The meeting came on the heels of the incident where 62 Indonesian citizens fell victims to fraud and human trafficking and were held captive by a scam company in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, recently.
This is not the first case, considering that cases of fraud and human trafficking targeting Indonesian migrant workers have been recurring since 2021.
“Cooperation to prevent human trafficking must be strengthened between Indonesia and Cambodia,” said Retno in the meeting, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (3/8).
