IO, Jakarta – Indonesia is committed to improve the export value of local creative economic products in the global market through the Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (Badan Ekonomi Kreatif – “Bekraf”). This is done through the Indonesia Creative Incorporated (ICINC), an acceleration program that prepares for market expansion of creative products and services abroad. Only the crème de la crème products and services in the sub-sector can enter this program.

In line with ICINC’s purpose, in August Bekraf is participating in the three biggest trade shows in the United States simultaneously. The first one is the NY Now 2019 crafts exhibition that will be held on 10-14 August 2019 in New York, while the second and third are the Agenda Show and Liberty Fairs, simultaneously held on 12-14 August 2019 in Las Vegas. Agenda Show exhibits streetwear products, while Liberty Fairs exhibits contemporary products for men.

Bekraf will have a number of local creative enterprises and their premium products participate in these events. These enterprises are included in the ICINC for the crafts and fashion sub-sectors.

“The fact that Bekraf has attended two out of these three before shows its commitment and consistency in promoting Indonesia’s creative products all over the world,” said Bekraf’s Marketing Deputy Joshua Simandjuntak. He further emphasizes that Bekraf is consistent in its efforts to improve national creative economy exports. He also hopes that the support would help our fashion and crafts industry to grow rapidly and earn its place in the global market.

NY Now is an international trade show that exclusively exhibits crafts products. Every year, it attracts 25,000 buyers with its 2,300 home, lifestyle, gift brands from around the globe. NY Now is the most powerful retail event in North America. This year, it will be held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York. The Indonesian pavilion with the theme of “ICINC presents IDentities at NY Now” will present eight national craft brands: Djalin, Kayou, Sackai Bags, Indo Risakti, Du’Anyam, Studio Dapur, Rengganis and Kana Goods.  This is the fourth time Bekraf has participated in NY Now. Bekraf’s participation in the event has garnered the happy achievement of Rp 11,494,270,800.00 in foreign sales by participants since 2017.

For the Agenda Show and Liberty Fairs, which will be held at Sands Expo, Las Vegas, Bekraf has also selected eight brands: Annas Tribe, KoolaStuffa, Niion, and Reinkarnasi will represent the Indonesian pavilion in the Agenda Show, while Pot Meets Pop (PMP), Elhaus, Monstore, and Bluesville will represent Indonesia in Liberty Fairs.

Bekraf’s second appearance in the Agenda Show is meant to repeat the success of a number of participants who earned sales and cooperation contracts with Urban Outfitters, Inc., a multi-national lifestyle company. This year, the Indonesian Pavilion at the Agenda Show and Liberty Fairs will again go with the theme of “ICINC presents +62Finest at Agenda Show & Liberty Fairs” to announce unlimited creativity in Indonesia’s fashion sub-sector.
