Jakarta, IO – House Committee VII asked President Joko Widodo to remove head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Laksana Tri Handoko, due to several controversies that tarnished its reputation lately.
Member of the committee from PKS faction Mulyanto said Tri has failed to consolidate the agency’s organization, human resource and budget, reported Suara, Wednesday (1/2).
He expressed his astonishment that from the it was established up to now the transitional process at BRIN is yet to be finished.

According to him, BRIN’s institutional capacity is pretty weak, which resulted in a number of reputational damages. The most significant one was its incorrect prediction of a major storm to hit several regions in Indonesia. The widely published forecast did not materialize, but it had caused widespread panic in the community. (un)
