House Sets Up Special Committee to Evaluate 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage


Jakarta, IO – The House of Representatives (DPR) has formed a special committee to evaluate the execution of the hajj pilgrimage in 2024. House Deputy Speaker Muhaimin “Cak Imin” Iskandar said the committee consist of 30 members (seven from PDI-P, four each from Golkar and Gerindra, three each from PKB, NasDem, Democratic Party, PKS, two from PAN and one from PPP.

As the chairman of the House Hajj Pilgrimage Evaluation Committee, Cak Imin has pushed for the formation of the committee to evaluate to specifically address several findings of the committee’s evaluation results on the organization of hajj, including mismatch of the data in the haj integrated computerized system (Siskohat) with the data found by the committee in the field.

“We feel the need to establish an Evaluation Special Committee for the detailed execution of the hajj pilgrimage ritual in 2024,” Cak Imin said, per CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (9/7).

In response, Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas expressed his readiness to follow the inquiry process. “We will report every step of the process, from the preparation to the execution of the hajj pilgrimage journey,” he said. (un)
