Jakarta, IO – The statement by Effendi Simbolon, member of the House Committee I from the PDI-P faction, about the military (TNI) has angered the institution, especially the Army. Effendi said military personnel are like gang members.
Video of Army personnel criticizing Effendi has been circulating on social media. They urged Effendi to apologize, CNN Indonesia reported on Wednesday (14/9).
One of the Army personnel, Corporal 2nd Class Arif even threatened Effendi in the video that if he doesn’t apologize immediately, he will “seek him out to the end of the world.”
Commander of Military District Command (Kodim) 0733/Semarang City Lt. Col. Honi Havana also spoke out. He told CNN Indonesia that Effendi has undermined the solidity of the armed forces.
