Jakarta, IO – The Indonesia International Book Fair (IIBF) is back. Themed “Celebrate Reading and Beyond!” it is held from September 25-29 at the Cendrawasih Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
IIBF is the oldest book exhibition in Indonesia and in Southeast Asia held by the Indonesian Publishers Association (IKAPI). First held in 1980, this year is its 44th edition, as per Kontan, Wed (25/9).
The committee chair Wedha Startesti Yudha explained the event seeks to instill a joy of reading in all people, regardless of age, gender or background. It is also a forum to foster the growth of the literary ecosystem.
“IIBF supports publishers and authors to gain attention, become an important link between creative industries, and foster a love of books and reading,” he said.
Wedha believes that IIBF has an important role to play in promoting reading interest through programs that reach the general public and professionals.
