“So far we can confirm that we have not found cases associated with Omicron XE in Indonesia,” said Nadia on Monday (4/4).
“But we will continue to be vigilant because we know that new variants can potentially lead to surge in cases,” she added.
Nadia said the government has also continued to strengthen its Whole Genome Sequences (WGS) capability to identify the presence of new variant. She explained that up to March, the Health Ministry has examined more than 20,000 specimens randomly collected from certain groups, such as cases from overseas arrivals and close contacts of certain variants.
