Jakarta, IO – Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud Md said he would investigate the United States (US) report naming five Indonesian citizens as ISIS financiers. If the information proves to be correct, action will be taken in accordance with anti-terrorism law.
“So far, the information is still raw. But, if it turns out to be true, of course we will take action in accordance with Law 5/2018 on the eradication of the criminal act of terrorism,” said Mahfud as reported by Detik, Wednesday (11/5). He added that the government will ask for more detailed information from the US.

Separately, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) spokesperson Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said there was a strong indication that three of the five Indonesian citizens referred to by the US are still in Syria.
