Jakarta, IO – The government has prepared glamping (a portmanteau of glorious and camping) as accomodations for the participants of Indonesia’s 79th independence anniversary ceremony at the new administrative capital Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.
Presidential Secretariat head Heru Budi Hartono said apart from glamping, the government also provides residential housing for civil servants and several hotels, per CNN Indonesia, Wed (7/8).
The government has determined that the independence commemoration on August 17 will be held in two locations, namely the State Palace at IKN and the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
There will also be military parade and President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will be the inspector of the ceremony at IKN.
Around 1,000 guests will be invited to attend the flag hoisting ceremony, while another 1,000 the flag lowering ceremony. Meanwhile, the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace will follow the procession at IKN.
Ceremonies in Jakarta will feature mostly entertainment after the solemn ceremony. The Palace has sent out 1,500 invitations for the morning session and 1,500 invitations for the afternoon one. (un)
