Jakarta, IO – The government promises to ease permits for music concerts, films, and art and culture festivals to spur the creative economy sector, reported Katadata, Tuesday (28/2). President Joko Widodo even wants the process to be digitized.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said this would make it easier for more than 30,000 medium to large-scale events to be held, potentially generating around Rp170 trillion.

Meanwhile, for international events, Sandiaga has set the target for principle permit to be granted at least six months and technical permit within three months and definitve permit 45 days before the event.

“Of course this will be under the coordination of Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment minister. We will integrate all permits from the central government level, to regional administrations and across ministries/agencies including the National Police,” said Sandiaga.
