Jakarta, IO – Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah confirmed that Indonesia has imposed temporary freeze on the placement of Indonesian domestic workers in Malaysia.
This step was taken because the neighboring country violated the terms of an agreement it signed with Indonesia on April 1 to implement a one-channel system.
Although the two countries have signed an MoU on the placement and protection of domestic workers which states the one-channel system is the only pathway, the Indonesian representative in Malaysia still found evidence that Malaysia is implementing the so-called online MAID system managed by the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs, according to a statement received by Observerid.com, Friday (15/7).
