Gorontalo holds 16th Tondano Javanese art and culture festival

Gorontalo, IO – The 16th Tondano Javanese (Jaton) art and culture festival was held in Sidodadi village, Boliyohuto district, Gorontalo regency, Gorontalo province.

Acting Gorontalo Governor Hamka Hendra Noer said the festival was to strengthen communal bonds among Jaton descendants as well as inter-region ties.

“We appreciate Jaton residents of who have chosen Sidodadi village to be the host. This festival is an added value for Gorontalo and can promote economic growth in the region,” said Hamka, as reported by Antara, Friday (5/8).

Hamka said Jaton are an embodiment of Gorontalo’s diverse culture, inherited from the national hero forefather Kiai Mojo.
