Jakarta, IO – The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will always be remembered thanks to an inspirational disabled Qatari YouTube sensation named Ghanim Al-Muftah. Not without reason, he is perhaps the first person to recite Quran verses at this quadrennial tournament.

At that time, Ghanim Al-Muftah interacted with U.S. veteran actor Morgan Freeman. “How can so many countries, languages, and cultures come together if only one way is accepted?” Morgan Freeman asked.

Ghanim Al-Muftah then read a verse from the holy book. “We believe that we are spread across this earth with various tribes and nations. So, we can learn from each other,” said Ghanim. “I can see that because what unites us here is far greater than what divides us.”

Ghanim Al-Muftah was born on May 5, 2002. He suffers from a rare genetic condition called Caudal Regression Syndrome (CRS) since he was still in the womb. This caused him to be born without the lower part of his body.
