Jakarta, IO – The Cartel Watch Society Movement (Germak) suspects fraudulent activities are being committed by bulk cooking oil traders, resulting in higher oil prices which put more burden on the public.
“From field reports and investigations conducted by our field monitoring team in several markets in Greater Jakarta, we found indications of traders repackaging the subsidized cooking oil and resell it at per kilogram rate, instead of per liter,” said Indonesia Budget Center (IBC) executive director Roy Salam on Tuesday (12/4).

Apart from repacking, according to Roy, there are also some unscrupulous market traders who continue to sell bulk cooking oil above the retail price ceiling (HET) set by the government.
