IO – The Great Indonesia Movement (G rakan Indonesia Raya – “Gerin- dra”) Party has mobilized emergency aid for the victims of flooding in South Kalimantan. Gerindra General Secre- tary Ahmad Muzani delivered the aid symbolically to the Chairman of the Party’s Regional Leadership Council (Dewan Pimpinan Daerah – “DPD”) of South Kalimantan Province, Abidin, on Wednesday (27/01/2021).
Ahmad Muzani expressed his hope that the Party’s assistance can help ease the burdens of the flood victims of South Kalimantan. He also stated that the aid was the Party’s way to help fellow citizens as per the man- date given to them by the Party’s General Chairman, Prabowo Subian- to. “The aid was the contribution of cadres, members of the Party’s Man- agement, and cadre members of the Legislative at all levels. It is continu- ous aid,” he said. “Even though the Regional Elections have ended, even though National Elections is still far away, we Gerindra cadres always re- member the message from our Gener- al Chairman, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, to help the people any time they need, in any way we can.”
Muzani went on to say that the Gerindra Branch Leadership Council (Dewan Pimpinan Cabang – “DPC”) in Hong Kong did not forget their breth- ren in Indonesia. “Among the aid we distributed today is a contribution of Gerindra Representatives in Hong Kong. They are Indonesian migrant workers in that country who pooled up their resources and entrusted their contribution to us. Gerindra cadres from everywhere care about their brethren who suffer because of disasters,” he said.
Chairman of Gerindra’s South Kalimantan DPD, Abidin, represented the flood victims in thanking Gerindra for its assistance amid their disaster. “We thank you for the aid of 8 trucks containing 22 types of aid, including mineral water, basic necessities, medicine, baby milk, biscuits, sardines, praying equipment, etc. from Gerindra Party’s Central Leadership Council (Dewan PimpinanPusat– “DPP”) to flood victims in the Province of South Kalimantan,” he said. “We are directly distributing these aids to the four areas in the Province that are hardest hit by the flood: The Regency of Hulu Sungai Tengah, the Regency of Batola, the Regency of Banjar, and the Regency of Tala.
