Jakarta, IO – Gerindra Party affirmed that it will unswervingly nominate its chairman Prabowo Subianto as candidate in the 2024 presidential race. This was conveyed by Gerindra politician Yan Permenas Mandenas, refuting the rumour that Prabowo might abandon his ambition.
He said the support did not only come from a few people, but all Gerindra cadres in the country. “There is rumour that Pak Prabowo will step down [as presidential candidate], it is not true because so far Gerindra cadres across the country still support Pak Prabowo’s nomination,” Yan was quoted as saying by Kompas, Friday (10/6).
Yan said that although there were more names projected to join the race to take place in two years, Prabowo is the only candidate who has a party. He revealed that Gerindra has continued to build political communication to form a coalition with other parties, including the PDI-P and NasDem.
