IO – Israeli film star Gal Gadot will star in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 classic, “To Catch a Thief”. The original “To Catch a Thief” boasts stunning views of the Riviera, as well as the very charming Cary Grant and Grace Kelly with cool blonde hair.

The latest version of “To Catch a Thief” is still in an early development stage. The screenplay is currently being written by Eileen Jones, best known for her work on the Fox series “Prodigal Son”.

Jones will update the script substantially to appeal to a younger generation. The film is being prepared at Paramount, the studio behind the original film. Gadot will be producing the remake along with partner Jaron Varsano through their company Pilot Wave.

Gal Gadot previously starred in action films such as “Wonder Woman” and “Red Notice” alongside Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson.

Gadot’s next project is as the Evil Queen in Agatha Christie’s live action films “Snow White” and “Death on the Nile”.

Gal Gadot-Varsano was born on 30 April 1985. At age 18, she was crowned Miss Israel 2004. She then served two years in the Israel Defence Forces as a soldier, whereafter she began studying at the IDC Herzliya college, while building her modelling and acting careers.

Gadot’s first international film role came as Gisele Yashar in Fast & Furious (2009), a role she reprised in several subsequent instalments of the film franchise. She went on to achieve global stardom for portraying Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), followed by the solo film Wonder Woman (2017), the ensemble Justice League (2017), the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), and the alternate cut Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).

Gadot was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2018 and has placed twice in annual rankings of the world’s highest paid actresses. (rp)
