The Foreign Ministry has facilitated investigators from National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) to conduct investigations in Cambodia. Of the Indonesian citizens who have been released, the Indonesian Embassy has obtained information about the recruiters, most of whom are from Indonesia. This information has been submitted to Bareskrim so further actions can be taken.
In addition, public education campaign has been continuously carried out to raise awareness about the fraudulent practice so the public can be more alert and not fall victim to the trap. (un)
