Jakarta, IO – The incident happened when a Russian woman, believed to be a tourist, was walking on the sidewalk, purported to be in Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, in the afternoon. The driver could be seen teasing her with a catcall.
The driver was heard shouting some abusive words and laughing. The footage was reuploaded by the Twitter handle @zoe**. It immediately sparked outcry from netizens.
“Doesn’t the driver know that catcalling constitutes sexual harassment? This victim is a female tourist who reportedly comes from Russia,” tweeted @zoe**, reported Detik on Wednesday (9/11).
In response, PT Blue Bird Tbk COO Agus Sulistiyono apologized. He said he has launched an investigation into the incident.
