Flight route still normal after Anak Krakatau volcano alert raised

Jakarta, IO – Civil Aviation director general Novie Riyanto said that after the status of Mount Anak Krakatau was raised from Level II (Alert) to Level III (Standby), the flight routes to the nearby airport are still operating normally.

“Currently, based on our monitoring, there are no flight routes and airports affected by the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau,” Novie told Kompas on Thursday (28/4).

He emphasized that the transportation ministry will continue to monitor and coordinate with relevant agencies such as the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) and Perum LPPNPI/AirNav Indonesia.

He revealed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has had an integrated web-based aeronautical information system handling system, called I-Wish.
