Jakarta, IO – Members of national flag-hoisting team (Paskibraka) conducted a solemn procession to deliver the duplicate national flag and proclamation text from the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta to Indonesia’s new administrative capital Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan on Saturday (10/8). This parade is part of a series of events to commemorate the 79th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence which for the first time ever will be held at IKN and Jakarta on August 17.
The flag and proclamation text was flown from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport using the Indonesian Air Force’s plane. The historic procession went past several arterial thoroughfares in Jakarta, including Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, and Jalan Gatot Subroto. This event was also enlivened by various arts and cultural performances showcasing Indonesia’s vibrant tapestry of diversity.

It is also a tribute to the rich history and valiant struggle of the nation, as well as emphasizing the determination to preserve the unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
