Ferdy uses a lot of acrylic paint inscribed on the canvas channeling his energy when interpreting the events told in the script “Les Bonnes.” The brush strokes, color selection, composition and paint layers by Ferdy Thaeras are intensely created by Ferdy, breathing the Abstract Expressionism art style of the ‘50s. “I translate the power of role-play into the canvas through the energy that I feel when reading the script and imagine playing the roles of the three main characters in the story,” said Ferdy.

Each series tells a story about a journey in searching for an identity, from varied colors in the Les Bonnes series to the final Protagonist series, which are mainly white and red, with cracked and crushed paint textures. The Survivor series differs from other series. Pastel color paints are poured over the hanging cloth, soft but exposing life’s experiences. The Survivor Series is clouded, interpreting the life journey of every human being searching for identity. Those who are able to keep themselves gentle are in soft color, but some others drown in darkness until reaching the end of life.

The exhibition started from December 23 and runs to January 14, 2023. The Les Bonnes performance by Ferdy Thaeras will take place from January 10 to 13, 2023. (des)
