Jakarta, IO – Prosecutor accused ex-police internal affairs division chief Ferdy Sambo as the mastermind behind the murder of Brig. Yosua Hutabarat (Brig. J) at his private home on Saguling St., Duren Tiga, South Jakarta in early July, reported CNN Indonesia.

Sambo’s maiden trial was heard in the South Jakarta District Court, Monday (17/10).

The prosecutor detailed that initially Sambo met his wife, Putri Candrawati, in the living room in front of the main bedroom on the third floor of the Saguling house. At that time, Sambo was said to have heard Putri’s story regarding the events that took place at the house in Magelang. In the conversation between the two, Putri admitted that she had been sexually harassed by Brigadier J.

“Hearing a one-sided story of which the truth is yet to be ascertained made the defendant Ferdy Sambo angry,” said the prosecutor.

The prosecutor said the plot to kill Brig. J was planned by Sambo in the Saguling house. He then expressed his intention and asked Chief Brig. Ricky Rizal to shoot Brig. J. However, the former refused because he did not have the heart to kill his friend.

Sambo then asked RR to summon Second Patrolman Richard Eliezer to the third floor. He then ordered E to shoot Brig. J. “The defendant Ferdy Sambo expressed his evil intentions by asking witness Richard Eliezer, ‘do you have the guts to shoot Joshua?’” the prosecutor repeated what Sambo said.

After E confirmed, Sambo then explained how the plan to kill Brig. J would be carried out at his official residence in police residential compound, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. Sambo assured Richard that he would protect him.

Ferdy Sambo and his accomplices were charged with premeditated murder. Reenactment of the killing was conducted at Ferdy Sambo’s official residence on August 30. (un)
