Jakarta, IO – The case of University of Indonesia (UI) student Mohammad Hasya Athallah Saputra (18) who was run over by a retired National Police officer has been closed even though it is still murky.

Hasya was hit by a Mitsubishi Pajero driven by retired Police Superintendent (AKBP) Eko Setia Budi Wahono in Jagakarsa, Depok, on October 6, 2022, reported Tempo, Monday (30/1).

There are discrepancies in the chronology described by the family and the police. Adi Syahputra, Hasya’s father, said that based on witness testimony at the location, the incident occurred when Hasya was heading back to his boarding house.

At Srengseng Sawah Street, Hasya, riding a motorcycle during a rainy day, slipped and fell to the right side of the road. At that time a Pajero came from the opposite direction and hit him.

He said the driver refused to take responsibility at that time. Hasya was taken to the hospital by an ambulance called in by his friend.

On the other hand, police concluded that Eko was innocent and it was Hasya who was negligent. Jakarta Metro Police later named Hasya as a suspect.
