Jakarta, IO – After dismantling and examining two well-preserved sarcophagi found under the tower of Notre-Dame Cathedral, France, experts discovered the surprising condition of the human bones inside. The cathedral is currently under renovation after a devastating fire in 2019.
The bones are believed to be one of the cathedral’s high-ranking officials named Antoine de la Porte and a young cavalry knight, reported CNN Indonesia on Friday (16/12).
Antoine was an elite canon of Notre-Dame Cathedral who died on Christmas Eve 1710 at the age of 83. He is said to be a smart, influential and wealthy individual who owns several works of art that are now being displayed at the Louvre Museum. Unfortunately, experts were unable to identify the second remains, so they simply called it “The Knight.”
