IO – The 2019 Climate Diplomacy Week conducted by the European Union in collaboration with several European embassies in Indonesia consists of a series of thematic activities in Jakarta and outside Jakarta which comprise the European Union’s creative way of campaigning for climate change. This year, the European Union collaborated with 7 embassies of member states, 18 community organizations and 12 opinion leaders (celebrities).

The European Union collaborates with those who work hard to solve climate change issues in the areas of forest and marine conservation, renewable energy, sustainable production and consumption and green planning. In addition to a number of discussion forums, the 2019 Climate Diplomacy Week also presents various other activities such as workshops, competitions and games, cooking demonstrations, environmental cleaning programs, film screenings and many more.

As one of the activities carried out in order to fill the 2019 Climate Diplomacy Week, the European Union held a French Climate Diplomacy Discussion: “The Climate Agreement in Paris manifests as Action”. The discussion facilitated by the French Embassy, AFD at the French Cultural Center, on Jalan MH Thamrin 20, Central Jakarta succeeded in attracting the attention of many visitors who were interested not only in knowing about, but are also directly involved in suppressing rising temperatures, increasingly dangerous for environmental sustainability and the safety of the earth.

Acting as resource persons for the discussion are Ludovic Maria, Environment and Energy Attaché, Economist Service of the Embassy of France to Jakarta; Emanuel Baudran, Country Director of the French Agency of Development (AFD) and Stephane Dovert, Embassy of France in Jakarta.
