Enjoying magnificent seamount and coral reef in Blue Beach

Jakarta, IO – The charm of Indonesia’s beauty radiates from its vast, diverse islands. Various tourist destinations to regional specialties are major draw for local and international tourists.

One of the places known for its natural beauty is Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) regency, East Kalimantan. Blue Beach is one of its hidden gems, with stunning underwater mountains and spectacular expanses of coral reefs, reported Detik, Tuesday (7/3).

Blue Beach is situated in Kersik village, Marangkayu district. It takes about 1.5 hours by land from Samarinda and 45 minutes from Bontang. Visitors only need to pay a parking fee of around Rp5,000 for motorbikes and Rp10,000 for cars.

Kersik village chief Jumadi said the coral reefs at Blue Beach are tourists’ favourite. In addition to marine tourism, Blue Beach is also known for its special culinary delights, namely halibut rice cooked with coconut milk and served with clam sauce. (un)
