Jakarta, IO – Acute hepatitis has become a growing concern after three children died due to the suspected disease. Many are asking about its medium of transmission.
Prof. Hanifah Aswari, pediatrician and consultant for Gastro Hepatology at RSCM FKUI said acute hepatitis with severe symptoms is transmitted via the respiratory and digestive tracts.

“It is initially suspected to be caused by Adenovirus, SARS CoV-2, ABV virus and others. These viruses mainly attack the gastrointestinal and respiratory tract,” said Hanifah on Friday (6/5), according to the Ministry of Health website.
