Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate Dito Ariotedjo, a young politician of Golkar Party, as the new sports and youth minister this afternoon, Monday (3/4), reported Kompas.tv.
Ariotedjo was born in 1990 and joined Golkar in 2016. He has served as member of the coordinating economic minister’s team of expert since April 2022. He was chairman of the Indonesian Reform Youth Force (AMPI).
He graduated from Universitas Indonesia’s (UI) Faculty of Law and was its Student Executive Body (BEM) head for strategic studies. He was also active in the Islamic Student Association (HMI). In 2018, he was entrusted by the Sports and Youth Ministry (Kemenpora) and the Indonesian Olympic Committee to lead the Indonesian contingent at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He also partners with artist Raffi Ahmad and Prestige Motor CEO Rudy Salim to establish Rans Sport and serves as chairman of Rans Nusantara FC, a football club based in Jakarta, as well as chairman of RANS PIK Basketball team.
Dito will replace Zainudin Amali who resigned on March 9, 2023. (un)
