DHL Supply Chain breaks ground on new facility in Indonesia with Rp400 billion investment

Cikarang, IO – DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics specialist within Deutsche Post DHL Group, today held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 40,000 square meter facility in Cikarang, West Java. DHL Supply Chain is investing Rp 400 billion (EUR25 million) for the new DHL Maheswara Green Logistics facility, built to house multiple customers to meet the increasing demand for warehousing services. It is set to commence operations by 2023, and will feature sustainable solutions to reduce carbon emissions. 

Sivananthan SKS, President Director DHL Supply Chain Indonesia, said, “The launch of DHL Maheswara Green Logistics is designed to fulfill the needs of warehousing services. The facility offers expanded capabilities and convenience, as it is near Cibatu toll gate and just 18 km from Cikarang Dry Port. DHL Maheswara Green Logistics will be our seventh multi-user facility, once more confirming our commitment to expanding the business and strengthening our presence in Indonesia,” said Sivananthan.

The facility is equipped with green solutions to reduce carbon emissions. It features solar panels to cover power consumption at the warehouse and office during the day, LED lamps with motion sensors, rainwater harvesting, and electric vehicles for shipping. Besides environmental sustainability solutions, the building also houses amenities for employees, such as a vertical garden and jogging track to nurture employee physical and mental health. 

The DHL Maheswara Green Logistics is the seventh facility in the area of Cibitung, Cikarang, and Karawang, a specialized industrial region in West Java backed by strong economic growth. All of the warehouses are located within two to five kilometers, ensuring flexibility and efficiency for customers.
