On Wednesday (8/6) the British Embassy in Jakarta also released a statement regarding the 100th day of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine. Britain described it as “barbaric and unwarranted.”
Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins said tens of thousands of people had died and more than 6.8 million refugees had fled Ukraine, 8 million Ukrainians displaced, nearly 13 million trapped in conflict zones and around 16 million in need of humanitarian support. Owen asked the international community to never forget that Vladimir Putin alone is responsible for the war.

“It is important to remember who bears sole and full responsibility for the fuel and food crisis hitting the global economy – Putin. Putin’s aggressive and unprovoked invasion violates a basic principle of international law-that states have territorial sovereignty and the right to determine their own foreign policy,” said Ambassador Owen.
