IO – Herzaky Mahendra Putra, head of strategic communications department and spokesperson/coordinator for the Democratic Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP), opines that the party remains strongly optimistic at the prospect of elections in 2022 and 2024. “The electability of the Democratic Party has been on the rise in 2021, under the leadership of Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY),” said Herzaky, Monday (12/20).
He maintains that electability figure, as reported by several political surveys, portends well for the Democratic Party. Furthermore, AHY’s directive to party cadres to help the communities during the COVID-19 pandemic have opened up more opportunities.
“This shows that the political activities, organizational transformation, and regeneration within the party led by Chairman AHY over the past two years have been acknowledged and appreciated by the Indonesian public,” Herzaky declared.
He states that the growing expectations people have for the Democratic Party have encouraged them to strive and fight for the aspirations and welfare of the Indonesian people. “For those who are marginalized and voiceless, or those whose aspirations are overlooked by the government, we will continue to build a coalition, to fight for their hopes and aspirations. Indeed, the expectations of the people are the Democratic Party’s mandate,” Herzaky concluded. (des)
