
Merpati Airlines stopped operating in 2014 and its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was revoked in 2015. Referring to the Peace Settlement Agreement ratified by the Surabaya Commercial Court at the end of 2018, the payment to third parties was agreed upon, including employee severance pay to be made after the airline resumes operations.

However, the only potential investor was unable to provide funding until the cancellation of the homologation was issued. It is noted that Merpati Airlines has liabilities to the tune of Rp10.9 trillion with negative equity of Rp1.9 trillion per 2020 audit report. (un)
