Darwin’s deputy mayor to visit hometown in East Nusa Tenggara

Jakarta, IO – Amye Un, 60, deputy mayor of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, is reportedly visiting her hometown in Amanatun, South Central Timor regency, East Nusa Tenggara, on December 20, 2022.

She will fly from Darwin to Dili because the flight to Denpasar is full on that day, reported Kompas, Friday (16/12). From Timor Leste, Amye will travel overland to Atambua, the capital of Belu regency, NTT. She will be greeted by her family, relatives and residents from Atambua and Kefamenanu.

Then she will head straight to the graves of her ancestors in Amanatun. “I’m going to pay my respect to my grandma’s grave in Oinlansi and Niki Niki,” said Amye, who also serves as a member of Darwin’s city council.

Amye is also going to visit Kupang city to meet her family and attend invitations from several universities. “I was personally invited to a university in the city of Kupang, to share my experience as a government official in a foreign country,” she said.
