IO, Jakarta – Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak is now Gerindra Party chairman’s spokesperson. He was chosen directly by Prabowo Subianto. Dahnil is also now an official member of the Gerindra Party.
“Good evening my friends. I would like to announce that from now on @Dahnilanzar will be the Gerindra chairman’s new spokesperson,” Prabowo said on his Twitter account.
“You are already wet; might as well swim. Politics needs youth who have integrity and competence,” said Dahnil repeating Prabowo’s words to him. Previously, Dahnil was the spokesperson of the National Success Team (BPN) of the Prabowo-Sandiaga ticket during the presidential election. “I officially joined with Gerindra after the dispersal of the BPN,” he said.
“I feel our chemistry matches. Prabowo is a unique figure who always holds good ethics towards political friends and enemies. There is a lot I can learn from him,” said Dahnil when contacted Tuesday night.
Dahnil believes working as a spokesperson isn’t for Gerindra won’t be much different than for the BPN. “As the BPN spokesperson, I became more familiar with Prabowo’s ideas,” he said.
Dahnil admitted many of Prabowo’s great ideas have yet to be communicated properly to the populace. “He wants to leave a legacy, like Bung Hatta left the legacy of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution,” he said. According to Dahnil. Prabowo is very concerned with the people’s economy as is written Article 33.
In the last year, Dahnil has been close and has had many discussions with Prabowo. “My interest in joining Gerindra was indeed because of Prabowo. I felt in line with his ideas.”
Dahnil is rumoured to also be put forward as a candidate for the mayoral election in Medan next year. “I will follow any decision Prabowo makes on whether to participate in the Medan mayoral elections,” he asserted. (rp)
