Covid under control, Indonesia loosens international arrivals restrictions

Jakarta, IO – The government has reopened flight routes at a number of international airports such as the ones in Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar and Pekanbaru.

Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said this was done as the government managed to contain the Covid-19 spread, in particular the Omicron variant, in the country.

“The government has reopened Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, Pekanbaru for international flights and relaxed the visa policy to near the pre-Covid state,” Luhut said via a video link on Tuesday (5/4).
