Jakarta, IO – The House passed the Correctional center bill into law in a plenary session on Thursday (7/7).
Article 9c, in particular, stipulates that a convict is entitled to recreation while imprisoned, Detik reported.
“Convicts are entitled to education, teaching, and recreational activities as well as opportunities to develop [one’s] potential,” it reads.
“Recreational activities” are defined as free daily physical exercise activities in the open air and additional time for daily entertainment, arts, or skills development activities.

“Opportunity to develop [one’s] potential” includes, among others, bringing tools to paint, write, or do other activities in line with their interests and talents.
