Jakarta, IO – Citilink flight QG307 from Surabaya to Makassar had to turn around and made an emergency landing at Juanda Airport, Sidoarjo, East Java, Thursday (21/7) because the pilot suddenly fell ill.
Pilot Captain Boy Awalia (48) took off at 06.10 WIB but not long after the plane with 171 passengers onboard was forced to return to the airport of origin and made an emergency landing 46 minutes after takeoff.
“We received a report that there was an emergency landing request from Citilink QG307 Surabaya-Makassar, due to pilot getting sick,” explained Juanda International Airport spokesperson Yuristo Ardi Hanggoro, as reported by Kompas, Friday (22/7).
