“In terms of infrastructure, the quake damaged 2,272 houses, one Islamic boarding school, one hospital, four government buildings, three educational facilities and one place of worship,” revealed Muhari.
The earthquake also caused landslides which cut off an inter-provincial road. The ripple also damaged 46 houses in Bogor Regency, 443 in Sukabumi Regency and 14 in Sukabumi City.
“BPBD is still gathering data regarding the number of fatalities and damage to infrastructure. The agency has prepared 20 units of tents, heavy equipment, 10 units of lighting equipment, 100 folding beds, and fuel,” said Muhari.

Muhari also appealed to residents in Cianjur Regency and its neighboring regions to evacuate if they feel their homes are not safe.
“Please remain vigilant to the potential aftershocks. Residents should keep informed by monitoring the official channels of BNPB, BPBD, BMKG (the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency) and the local government,” said Muhari. (rr)
