Jakarta, IO – Blitar mayor Santoso was robbed by a group of unknown people at his official residence on Monday (12/12) at 3 a.m. WIB. The robbers managed to take Rp400 million in cash and jewelry worn by Santoso’s wife Feti Wulandari, reported Kompas, Wednesday (14/12).
In his press conference, Santoso said he was very worried about his wife’s safety at that time. He said there were three robbers who forced open his bedroom door and then locked him and his wife inside.
After they started to beat him, demanding he hand over the cash and valuables kept in the safe. Not only that, the robbers also threatened to strip Feti – who was tied to a chair and her mouth was taped shut – naked.
Santosa recounted that the robbery occurred when Feti was about to perform a midnight prayer. She panicked when she heard people banging on the bedroom door and woke Santoso up. “If my memory serves me right, there were three people. The quickly overpowered me and my wife. I was told to lie down and they tape my mouth and eyes,” he said.

Before fleeing, the robbers asked Santoso to show the location of the CCTV room. They then took the decoder. Santoso immediately called his security guard who is member of the public order agency (Satpol PP) at the post, but he was also paralyzed by the robbers.
East Java Police spokesperson Chief Commissioner Dirmanto said based on witness statements police have learned that the robbers used a car with official license plate. “One of the witnesses saw the perpetrator used a black (Toyota) Innova with red license plate. We will follow up on this lead,” said Dirmato. (rr)
