Jakarta, IO – As many as 17 four-wheelers were involved in multiple collisions on the Cipularang toll road km 92 towards Jakarta, Sunday (26/6) night. Head of Cipularang highway patrol AKP Denny Catur said the accident began when the Laju Prima bus from Bandung crashed into several vehicles at 20.20 WIB.
“It is suspected that the Laju Prima bus experienced brake failure and hit the vehicle in front of it. The traffic was heavy considering that it was Sundays which often saw increased traffic from Bandung to Jakarta,” Denny told Tempo on Monday (27/6).
He explained that as a result of the accident, three people suffered serious injuries and 16 others minor ones. The accident victim was immediately rushed to the Abdul Radjak Hospital in Purwakarta. “The vehicles involved in the accident, they are taken to the Jatiluhur towing pool,” said Denny.
