IO – The Moroccan Embassy held a 20th anniversary celebration of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI, at the Four Seasons hotel Gatot Subroto, Jakarta on Tuesday, July 30,2019. The guests list consisted of the Moroccan residents who living in Jakarta, and residents of Indonesia. Invited attendees consisted of officials at the Ministerial level, including the Minister of PPN / Head of the National Development Planning Agency Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro, Maritime and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti, Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, Sandiaga Uno the businessman, and other officials and celebrities.
Mohammed VI, who was born on August 21, 1963, is the King of Morocco. He was a member of the Aloui dynasty and ascended to the throne after the passing of his father, King Hassan II. On July 23, 1999, Muhammad succeeded his father as the king, and was crowned in Rabat on July 30. Mohammed VI has one brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, and three sisters: Princess Lalla Meryem, Princess Lalla Asma, and Princess Lalla Hasna. On March 21, 2002, Mohammed married Salma Bennani in Rabat. Bennani was awarded the personal title of Princess with the title of His Majesty at her marriage. They have two children: Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, who was born on May 8, 2003, and Putri Lalla Khadija, who was born on February 28, 2007.
In his remarks, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Indonesia, H.E. Ouadia Benabdellah expresses his happiness for the guest attendance and his joy over the relationship between Morocco and Indonesia which is increasing and developing, while hoping it will continue to grow in the future.
Meanwhile, Minister of PPN / Head of National Development Planning Agency Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro as the representative of the Indonesian Government congratulated King Mohammed VI and also expressed his appreciation of the relations between the two countries, which are steadily growing. Bambang also revealed that trade relations between the two countries continue to expand.
The event for celebrating the 20th enthronement of King Mohammed ended with a slicing of an anniversary cake, followed by all Indonesian officials present, ambassadors and other celebrities continued by a gala dinner for all the guests.
