Jakarta, IO – The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the National Police’s anti-terror squad Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) held a joint meeting in Jakarta, Monday (30/9) aimed at strengthening collaboration on radicalism prevention and deradicalization program, as per bnpt.go.id (1/10).
BNPT chief Police Comr. Gen. Eddy Hartono emphasized the importance of efforts to prevent radicalization in accordance with Law 5/2018. According to him, interagency synergy and cooperation is crucial in order to produce accurate data that can be used for further measures.
Thus, BNPT and Densus 88 will coordinate closely especially in determining indicators of terrorism threats. “We must coordinate the mapping of terrorism convicts so that we can have records to be used in the next program,” said Eddy.
Meanwhile, Densus 88 head Police Insp. General Sentot Prasetyo hopes that stronger collaboration between the two anti-terror agencies can increase the sense of security in the community.

In addition, Sentot urged each personnel tasked with combating terrorism to work optimally as the challenges have become more complex. (un)
