Jakarta, IO – Azmir Azhari (68), a senior sculptor, is skilfully sculpting the statue of the campursari (a blend of traditional Javanese and modern music) singer Didi Kempot on the terrace of his house in Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta. In his house yard, there are rows of statues of figures that he has created, from Prof. Dr. H. Tabrani Rab, Li Shao Bo, General Sudirman to Taufik Kiemas.
Azmir has made more than 50 statues. Born in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, he has taken commissions from a number of countries such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and many more.
